How does BOTOX work?
BOTOX is injected into the desired area of the skin where wrinkle reduction is desired. BOTOX binds to nerve endings in the muscle temporarily relaxing the specific contractions that cause wrinkles to form. Moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and other facial wrinkles are then noticeably reduced or eliminated temporarily, causing your skin to appear smoother and more refreshed.
Who is a good candidate for BOTOX?
Adults of all ages in generally good health with moderate to severe wrinkles are usually good candidates for BOTOX injections. Many men and women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s looking to regain a more youthful appearance get BOTOX, but this skin-smoothing treatment is also becoming a more common among people in their 20s and 30s to prevent lines and wrinkles before they even can occur.

Will I need downtime after treatment with BOTOX?
BOTOX injections don’t require any downtime. You can resume most of your normal daily activities as soon as your injections are done. We just ask that you not lie down for at least four hours after treatment and don’t exercise, use tanning bed, or use a hot tub/sauna for 24 hours.
When will I see the skin-smoothing results of BOTOX?
Most people start noticing a smoothing of lines and wrinkles within the first 24 to 48 hours of their injections. The full results typically show up at about the 30-day mark. Those youthful results generally last for 3-4 months, at which time you can elect for repeat injections to maintain your results. Individual results and longevity of treatment may vary.
